The 18 surfers taking part in Red Bull Night Riders got over their childhood fears, because the only thing lurking in the shadows at this event was some serious wave shredding...
Red Bull Night Riders:

Atlantic City, NJ
(Near the Trump Plaza Beach Bar and Caesar’s Pier)
Red Bull Night Riders is a competitive surfing experience for 18 east coast surfers under a very unique circumstance – being towed into a wave at night. Surfers form their own teams of two, which included one jet-ski driver and one surfer being towed. Each surfer on the team of two gets two “tow-ats” for their chance to get the biggest air and turn the best trick. Teams competed in three different categories for a chance to win an overall prize purse of $5,000.
“Drivers dictate what the surfer does in the water so you have to constantly work together,” says competitor Sam Hammer. “I’m just excited to be out here pushing the progression of surfing, making it faster and a lot of fun.”
